Sabres Alum vs BPD Game

Last night we grabbed Donald's friend Mike and headed down to HSBC Arena to watch the Sabres Alumni Association take the on the Buffalo Police Department. I guess they used to do this kind of game all the time and haven't done it for a while. Last night's game was in honor of that Officer Patricia Parete who was shot in the line of duty. Ticket's were $10 and the whole amount went to her recovery fund. Gilbert Perreault played and Rick Martin & Larry Playfair were co-coaches. Even Lindy Ruff - who is really great - took the ice. The players were all surprisingly nice and some of them are still pretty hot! Darryl Shannon and James Patrick still have it. Whew!! We sat right next to the tunnel where the Sabres came out so it was a perfect spot for pictures and autographs. Gilbert played in his old gold helmet and Dionne played without his. Heck, James Patrick played in a baseball cap! Shows you how tough the players were back in the day. LOL Everyone had a great time, autographs abounded and hockey still rules as the ultimate sport............. with lacrosse a close second. ^_-
